While working under a national brand the local bank is community owned. This comes with its own challenges as the bank is unable due to regulations promote or speak about the services they provide and as it is a community bank it needs to focus on all its good works.

The first stage was meeting with the branch manager and members of the board. This outlined their desires and objectives for the page. The next step was to go through Bendigo Bank Social Media induction to understand the guidelines by doing this we were able to understand what we could and were not able to do. The process then was to develop an engagement and social media road map that covered all objectives and format guidelines.
The social media engagement of the branch went from 49 fans to over 200 within a few short weeks. The page has been able to focus on community projects and this helped with support and co-sponsorship of projects.
