Without a doubt the single most important strategy for your social media marketing is the use of video. If you’re not posting videos - not only are you sabotaging your opportunities online by underutilising the most engaging medium in digital marketing - you are prioritising your content behind everyone else who is using video.

Using Facebook as an example, in 2016 Mark Zuckerberg said “The majority of content we consume will be video” citing video as a type of content he was excited to be exploring moving forward. “Most of the content 10 years ago was text, and then photos, and now it’s quickly becoming video,”


The value of video on Facebook cannot be understated (especially if it is uploaded directly to Facebook and not linked from places such as YouTube or Vimeo). Facebook favours video and will push this content straight to the top of the newsfeed prioritisation, which means your reach is greater and as a result your engagement gets a positive result as well.
