It’s true what they say…Video content is King!
Without a doubt the single most important strategy for your social media marketing is the use of video. If you’re not posting videos - not only are you sabotaging your opportunities online by underutilising the most engaging medium in digital marketing - you are prioritising your content behind everyone else who is using video.
Using Facebook as an example, in 2016 Mark Zuckerberg said “The majority of content we consume will be video” citing video as a type of content he was excited to be exploring moving forward. “Most of the content 10 years ago was text, and then photos, and now it’s quickly becoming video,”
The value of video on Facebook cannot be understated (especially if it is uploaded directly to Facebook and not linked from places such as YouTube or Vimeo). Facebook favours video and will push this content straight to the top of the newsfeed prioritisation, which means your reach is greater and as a result your engagement gets a positive result as well.
Knowing this, it is important to give Facebook as a platform what it wants. Working with video’s enormous influence and potential to captivate (and entertain) and Facebooks advertising platform and “Shazam” you can expect some real great results.
Here are some statistics to help you really understand the power of the video game and why you are doing yourself a HUGE disservice not including it as part of your strategy.
1. Conversion Rates: Video Boosts Results
Having video on your social pages and even your website can increase conversion rates of visitors by up to 80%. If you like email advertising, then video can increase your click through rates by 200-300%
2. SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) Google loves video:
Most people are already aware that sites that are active, have the most visitors and are the best performing are the ones that are…well not boring and covered with text. Having some quality video on your website that engages visitors to the site will start to push you up the ranks. Share those videos to social media and your chances of being found rocket you to success and your ability to build awareness, get engagement and develop leads and get sales.
3. Trust and Credibility: Gained
The more people see you the more they know and trust you. A video has a unique way of building trust and credibility and really let’s you connect with your customers. The more you educate about your business, products and services the more people will feel like they can trust your advice…..and you know what? That leads to a thing called sales.
4. Social Media Sharing: Encouraged
You’ve head of viral videos, right? 92% of mobile users share video they’ve watched with others. Having something light hearted and humorous works best but you also don’t need to be a comedian to get the results you need.
The only problem with video is that you are limited by your imagination, video boost conversion rates, helps influencer buyer behaviour, conveys trust and credibility, builds a relationship with your customers, showcases your brand vales and the products and services you offer but most importantly tells your stories to existing and new potential clients.
Now don’t you think it’s time to invest in video.
